Sturdy, odor- and water-resistant, the Original Bed looks handsome in any living room or den. The zippered outer cover of our Original Bed combines water-resistant 420 denier nylon packcloth with a soft polyester fleece sleeping surface. This outer cover surrounds an inner cushion made of ripstop nylon. The Original is filled with SmartFill, Big Shrimpy's washable and dryable recycled polyester filling. Because of this, Big Shrimpy beds can be completely deconstructed, washed, dried and rebuilt allowing the customer to refresh the bed entirely. Although the inner cushion is odor and water-resistant, it can be unzipped to remove and wash/dry the SmartFill if necessary. All the components of the Original Bed are machine washable and dryable, including the outer cover and inner cushions. These design features extend the life of the bed. Outer Covers and Inner Cushions can be purchased separately, allowing a pet owner to simply replace components when needed instead of discarding the entire bed. Big Shrimpy beds filled with SmartFill remain a sensible and practical solution for your customers interested in "green" products. SmartFill is a clean polyester fiber that is diverted from a waste stream and used in Big Shrimpy beds without having to reprocess it. Other "recycled" fibers have gone through many high-energy processes to melt the waste material, "pelletize" it, trasport it to a factory and then reform it into a new material.
